Andy came from a shelter, where he spent about 6 weeks waiting for someone to see just how special he is. Despite that, he has remained the sweetest boy with such a gentle and loving spirit.
Andy loves to play ball! He also enjoys a good chew bone and absolutely loves to run. He has great energy and would thrive with someone who enjoys walks, playtime, or even running. Andy would make an amazing companion for an active person or family who wants a dog ready for adventure.
He will need either a tall fenced yard or a family committed to walking him and helping him get his energy out. He is athletic, smart, and so eager to be part of whatever his people are doing.
Dog Friendly: Andy has been great with every dog he has met, both male and female. He has such a gentle way about him and fits in beautifully with other dogs.
Cats & Chickens: Andy had a brief meeting with a few cats and was more curious than anything. Chickens, however, are a different story — while walking beside the coop, he saw them, hit the ground in fear, and decided he wanted absolutely nothing to do with those scary feathered creatures.
Mealtime: Andy has done excellent on Purina dog food and is great eating food in a group.
Foster Life: Since coming into foster care, Andy has learned so many manners. He has proven to be very smart, eager to learn, and ready to please. He is great in his crate, very clean, and does well being crated at night or during the day as needed. He is with teenagers in foster care.
Leash Skills: Andy does well on a leash and enjoys getting out and moving.
Andy is a sweet, smart, active, and loving boy who is ready for a family to see what we already know — he is special. He deserves a forever home where he can run, play, learn, love, and finally belong. Fill out an adoption application to have him join your family. His $400 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, heartworm treatment, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.
