Meet Rose
Rose's story didn't start out soft or safe—but you'd never know it by the way she loves.
She was one of 36 dogs rescued from unimaginable conditions, living crowded inside a tiny RV with no electricity or running water. In the middle of that chaos, little Rose endured an untreated broken back leg that was never repaired, forcing her to drag it behind her tiny body as it healed the only way it could. Despite everything, her spirit stayed gentle and unbroken.
Today, Rose is thriving. Her damaged leg has been removed, and she has healed beautifully—happy, whole, and moving through life on three legs like it was always meant to be. She even does the cutest little “tippy tappies” when she gets excited (which is often, especially when she sees her people).
At just 12.6 pounds and around 2–3 years old, Rose is a petite mystery mix—likely a blend of blue tick hound, dachshund, chihuahua/terrier, and possibly even a touch of whippet. But what she's truly made of is sweetness, resilience, and love.
Rose is amazing with other dogs and wonderful with all people. She is gentle through and through and wouldn't hurt a soul. While she may be a little shy in new situations or with unfamiliar faces, she warms up beautifully once she feels safe—and when she does, she bonds deeply and completely.
Her favorite thing in the world is being close to her person. She is incredibly affectionate and will happily cover you in endless kisses (she takes her “licks you to death” job very seriously). Rose would love nothing more than a quiet lap, a soft place to rest, and someone to adore.
She is up to date on all preventions, fully vaccinated, and spayed—ready to simply focus on the good part of life now. She is crate trained and keeps it clean.
Rose has survived more than most ever should, yet she remains nothing but gentle love. She is the kind of dog who doesn't just enter your home... she quietly becomes your heart.
If you're looking for a small, tender soul who just wants to love and be loved, Rose is waiting Fill out an adoption application if you would like her to join your family. Her $425 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, spay, microchip, leg amputation, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.
