My name is Tucker. I am 2 1/2 years old and weigh 25 pounds. I need a new home because my family moved and left me behind in the backyard, which landed me in the shelter before coming to rescue. I am being fostered in Wichita, Kansas.
My foster home includes kids, dogs, cats, and the occasional visitor — it’s a full house, and I fit right in. Cats are new to me, but honestly, I think they’re just funnylooking dogs. Visitors? Love them! More hands, more pets. Companionship is my quest in life. I just love to love and I know you’ll love me too.
I’m a smart boy who listens well and loves making my humans happy. I even mastered the steps to climb into my foster’s bed — because that’s where the best sleep happens. When it’s sunny but not too hot, I like to sunbathe in the backyard. Grass is great, especially to roll around on. I’m pretty mellow overall, but I do get bursts of energy and will play with the other dogs. I’ve even chased a squirrel or two along the fence — purely for scientific research of course.
Not a lot scares me but quick movements can make me flinch. So, if I jump or move away, it’s just that I’m still learning to fully trust. If you’re looking for a gentle, sun loving, routine ready, kid approved companion with a soft heart and a silly streak, I might just be your perfect match. But careful - everyone who meets me falls in love. I’m a loyal, affectionate boy who just wants to be part of someone’s life. If you enjoy cuddles, companionship, and a dog who stays close to your heart (and your side), I’m your guy.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.
MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.
MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.
