SANDERS - ADOPTABLE
Say hello to Sanders – Colonel Sanders, if we’re being formal. This scruff muffin was found fending for himself in a KFC parking lot and is now living large while he waits for his forever home.
At 8 months old and 17lbs, Sanders is a little guy with plenty of energy for playtime and adventures. He loves toys, being with his people, and investigating where you’ve left your socks.
An expert crate boi, he sleeps through the night and takes breaks there during the day. He loves company but hasn’t shown signs of separation anxiety in his foster home.
Like any puppy, Sanders needs continued guidance to learn his manners. He’s currently quite mouthy and enjoys chewing on socks, shoes, and toys, so appropriate chew toys and consistent training will be important. He responds well to “come,” readily gives up items when told “no,” and hasn’t shown resource guarding so far.
A bit of a ladies’ man, Sanders can be cautious around men at first. With patient introductions, though, he soon warms up to pets and starts handing out kisses. He’s been wonderful with the rambunctious five-year-old in his foster home.
Sanders would love some dog friends! He’s been polite during introductions and hasn’t shown aggression or reactivity toward the dogs he’s met. Birds and squirrels, however, are very exciting to him. Given his interest in chasing them, a home without cats would likely be the best fit.
If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate little sidekick and are ready to help a puppy learn the ropes, Colonel Sanders is ready to report for duty.
