Piggy Smalls is a 4-year-old, 30 lb bully mix with two speeds: full throttle and sound asleep. She’s affectionate, playful, incredibly smart, food-motivated and always ready for her next adventure!
Piggy came to us from California after being found abandoned while caring for two puppies. Despite her difficult start, she has shown herself to be resilient, loving and eager to connect with the people she trusts. She can be shy when meeting new people—especially men—but once you’re in her circle, you’ll have one very loyal sidekick.
Piggy is:

House trained
Crate trained
Dog social
Smart and eager to learn
Familiar with “sit” and “down”
Best suited to older children
Absolutely no cats
Piggy is currently working on her leash manners and confidence during car rides. She can be enthusiastic on walks and occasionally forgets she isn’t pulling a sled team! Once she burns off some energy, she settles into a much more relaxed rhythm—unless she decides the walk is over, at which point she becomes a very determined 30 lb paperweight.
Her ideal adopter will be active, experienced with energetic bully breeds and excited to continue her training. She would thrive with structure, consistency and activities that keep both her body and clever mind busy. A townhouse or detached home with a securely fenced yard would be best.
Piggy appears sensitive to chicken-based foods, so her future family will need to be mindful of her menu. Thankfully, she is more than willing to sample alternative treats in the name of science!
When Piggy sees her favourite people, her entire body wiggles like she has forgotten she has bones. She loves the outdoors, enjoys bath time and may even have a future as a river dog. After a busy day, she curls up and snores like the tiny piglet she was clearly named after.
