Rex has one tiny flaw. He thinks everyone is his friend. The mailman? Friend. The UPS driver? Friend. The neighbor you've never met before? Definitely a friend.
If you accidentally make eye contact with Rex from across the yard, congratulations... he's already planning what activities the two of you are going to do together.
He has absolutely no concept of strangers. Only future friends.
He's one year old, ridiculously handsome, built like an athlete, and somehow wakes up every morning convinced it's going to be the best day ever. Whether it's going for a walk, tossing a toy around the yard, curling up on the couch, or simply following you from room to room to make sure you're not having fun without him,
Rex is all in.
He's goofy in the best way, affectionate without being overwhelming, and has the kind of personality that makes people smile without even realizing it. If you sit down, he'll happily join you. If you're outside, he's ready for the adventure. If you're having a bad day... well, Rex has unofficially appointed himself Head of the Morale Department.
He's wonderful with children, loves other dogs, has done beautifully with cats, and truly seems happiest when he's surrounded by the people and animals he loves. He's the kind of dog who makes himself at home wherever love lives.
The most remarkable thing about Rex, though, isn't how handsome he is or how friendly he is.
It's that he never stopped believing people are good.
Before being rescued, Rex experienced unimaginable cruelty. When we rescued him, he was covered in old and fresh wounds, yet somehow he refused to let his past define him. Instead of becoming fearful or angry, he chose forgiveness. He chose joy. He chose to keep loving people with his whole heart.
We think that's pretty extraordinary. Rex isn't looking for someone to rescue him anymore. He's already done the hard part.
Now he's simply looking for a family to laugh with, grow old with, and spend ordinary Tuesdays beside. The kind of family who'll throw one more toy, rub his belly for just a little longer, and remind him every single day that he was always worthy of being loved.
One day you'll look over and realize he isn't just your dog anymore. He's your shadow. Your biggest fan. The reason you smile when you walk through the front door.
The kind of best friend you honestly can't imagine how you ever lived without. That's Rex.
