Meet Rudy! Rudy is a handsome 1-year-old Border Collie mix weighing about 65 pounds.

Rudy was originally adopted from us as a puppy, and we thought he had found his forever home. Unfortunately, he was recently returned when his family said they were moving. While we were sad to see him back, we quickly realized it may have been for the best. Rudy came back to us in poor condition, and it appeared he had spent much of his time outside without the attention and interaction a young dog needs.

But please don't let that make you think Rudy is a difficult dog —he isn't.

Rudy is an incredibly sweet, gentle boy who just hasn't had someone consistently show him the ropes yet. He missed out on some of the basic training and structure most dogs get during their puppy years, but at only a year old, he has SO much potential ahead of him.

He is smart, responsive, and genuinely wants to interact with people. He may need to learn some basic manners and what is expected of him in a home, but he isn't starting from a bad place — he's simply starting a little late. Give him consistency, direction, and some one-on-one attention, and we think this boy is going to catch on quickly.

At 65 pounds, Rudy may be a big guy, but he's truly a gentle giant with a soft personality. He doesn't jump on you! He deserves the chance to finally have someone invest some time in him and show him what being part of a family is supposed to look like.

Rudy is located in Gainesville, TX, but we offer transportation services all over the U.S. Out-of-state adopters are welcome to schedule a FaceTime meet-and-greet with him before adoption.
