DENNY is a beautiful boy who has been through so much. He'd been a scared stray living on the streets for over a year. People tried to help him, other people tried to hurt him and he'd been shot. He was finally trapped and brought to us.

Denny is a gentle, sweet natured boy. He's already settling in and doing so much better. He takes treats gently and sits so pretty. He will walk on a leash.

Denny had a fractured leg but X-rays showed it had already healed and he just needed a little more cage rest. Now he's ready to find a home or a foster home. This poor guy is such a sweetheart and deserving of a loving home and TLC.

Denny is good with other dogs. He weighs 55 lbs and is a Border Collie/Retriever. Sadly, but no surprise, Denny tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get her into a home during her treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about her heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering her (we’d love to find her a foster home!). Once her treatment plan is completed, Denny will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions!

ADOPTING A DOG
Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).

If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.

We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. Please visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/FriendsofKCKAS/ for more info about weekend adoption hours, events and available pets.

We are open Monday through Friday by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.
