Mike - Blue Lacy and Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Fairfield, Connecticut

Hi everyone, I’m Mike, but my foster mom calls me Mikey. I am a very handsome 5-year-old, 33 lb Blue Lacy mix with a lean, athletic build and a heart of gold. I was one of many dogs who wound up at a "kill" shelter in Port Lavaca, Texas. Not surprising, since there are many stray dogs in this area and many with skin conditions like demodex mange and flea dermatitis, like me. I was practically naked when they brought me in, but 4 Little Paws Rescue saved the day when they saved our lives and sent us all to the vet, then placed us in foster homes from here to San Antonio. These days I am doing great! My soft hair has filled in, I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and extremely happy for this opportunity to be someone's forever dog!

First and foremost, I’m a sweetheart! I'm still a bit shy when I first meet a new person or a new dog, but I’m great with kids and warm up quickly with everyone else, always kind and gentle. I’m sort of a velcro dog as I build some confidence that I won't be abandoned. I have a medium energy level, not overactive but not boring either, and I love to run! Yep, I am my foster mom’s running buddy, and we walk/jog 3 miles twice a week. My foster mom says I am a total love bug, very affectionate, and I'll share kisses! I love squeaky toys, exploring and playing outdoors, and spending time with my people. I cry when left alone, and I’m not a fan of being kept in a crate, so I stay in a secure, fenced outdoor area when I'm home alone. I am working on housebreaking and doing well on a schedule, sometimes whining to let you know when it’s time to let me out. More than anything, I love being with people, so a retired or work-from-home family would be ideal for me! Make my doggy dreams come true and inquire about me today.
Adoption Fee: $400
