Black Mouth Cur and Rhodesian Ridgeback Dogs Available for Adoption in Kenai, Alaska

Holy Handsome Hound!!!! Walker would like to re-introduce himself to you! You may recall he was adopted from the Wildwood Correctional Center dog program, where he was an all-time favorite! Unfortunately, he violated his parole by escaping from his yard and was remanded back to prison. He is able to release back to the community with a low bail of only $350.00!



Walker is the sweetest boy and is just a lap dog at heart. He loves to snuggle and get hugs, smooches, and snacks - especially string cheese! His ears are the silkiest! He adores his people and is protective of them. We were told that Walker was born 9/19/24 and that he is a Hound/Black Mouth Cur/Ridgeback mix. Walker is great with other dogs, people, and kids. Hasn't shown interest in the cats at Wildwood. Not good with chickens. Potty- and crate-trained. He is a very well-behaved boy but is a Hound and will follow his sniffer wherever it takes him! Therefore, he will need a home with a good plan for containment since he is an escape artist! He does well on car rides and likes to copilot. He is a strong puller on a leash but he is working with his trainer on that. Walker is looking for his forever family. He will steal your heart, your chair, AND your bed!!!!

There will be an adoption fee of $350 + tax so that we can continue to help other animals in need. Donations are appreciated. KPAL Rescue is a non-profit animal rescue based in Kenai/Soldotna, AK. Adopters should be willing to travel here to adopt as we do not ship or allow for third party transportation. As a foster-based organization, we do not have a kennel facility you can visit.
