Alfalfa - Black Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Michigan City, Indiana

Alfalfa's whole world is upside-down He is sad, scared and confused. He is an 8-month-old puppy growing up in a shelter. This is such an important life stage for him and he, unfortunately, is carrying many of the burdens that being a puppy in shelter brings. He deserves a home. He can be fostered or fostered-to-adopted.

Alfalfa has so much potential and so much love. All of us MHS employees and volunteers have seen his tremendous growth in his socialization level. He is perfectly sized at 34 pounds. He loves other dogs. He also has done great in a home with cats after a slow introduction.

Alfalfa came in not having the best socialization. However, he has learned to trust staff, volunteers and interested adopters. After visiting with Alfalfa a few times, be understands that he is safe around people. He just needs the chance to learn that.

Alfalfa loves cuddling and loves playing. And he LOVES swimming! He will need a home where his fosters or adopters can give him time to acclimate and set him up for success in doing so. We are here to help and can guide you!
