Bones 2 - Black Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Killingworth, Connecticut

HOW TO ADOPT: The fastest way to start is to submit an adoption application directly (labs4rescue.com/adopt). Please use our official website rather than the Petfinder "Start your Inquiry" button.

Bones #2 is 6 months old and 44 lbs. Leash walking was new to Bones, but he has learned to walk nicely with a Harness Lead. He has excellent house manners and knows what is his to chew and what isn’t. He is crate trained and sleeps quietly all night. Loud noises, thunder, and fireworks don’t bother him; he sleeps through it all. He doesn’t counter surf or jump on people or on furniture, and he is great in the car. Bones is wonderful with kids and has no food or toy aggression and takes treats very gently and nose to nose with other dogs. Bones is very food motivated so he’s easy to train and knows the commands “sit”, “down”, “wait” and “okay”, both verbally and with hand signals. He enjoys playing fetch, brings the ball back, and knows “release”. He has medium energy and loves his playtime and walks but settles down nicely after exercise. He loves to chase and tumble and play tug of war with other dogs, and I promised him a forever home with at least one other playful dog and a fenced yard. Because of his wonderful friendly and outgoing personality, he would be perfect for an adopter who can take a dog to work.
