Maui - Black Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Hays, Kansas

Meet Maui!

Maui is a 6 year old, male Labrador Retriever mix. He has not been neutered yet.

Maui came to HSHP to no fault of his own. His owner had to move and the new place would not allow Maui to come to. The previous owners owned Maui since he was a puppy where he lived a simple and quiet life. Don't let his age fool you, Maui still has plenty of energy at times and likes to play. In his previous home, Maui lived with other dogs big and small. He did great with them and we believe he would enjoy a home with new fur siblings too! He also lived with a little human and was great with him too!
Maui has not had much exposure to cats aside from a few he would see outside. His previous owner said he never really paid them much attention.
Maui spent majority of his life in his outdoor kennel run and would come in when the weather was not safe. When he would go inside, he did not have many accidents. He may need some help adjusting to indoor life and setting a routine early on is key! Maui does know a few basic commands such as sit and lay down. One thing Maui is still getting use to is the leash. He does well on one, but may have moments where he pulls you a little hard.

We will be sure to add more to this bio as we get to know Maui and he begins to show more of his personality to us. He has been started on his vaccines and is ready to find his new forever home!
