Foster or Adopter Needed by 6/3/26
Zoey needs a committed foster or adopter to secure her ride from Fort Bend Animal Services in Texas to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on 6/3/26 in partnership with Dog Is My CoPilot. Without a home commitment, she cannot make transport.
Meet Zoey
Zoey is a lovable 5-month-old Lab mix with all the playful puppy charm you could ask for. She was found as a stray with her brother Simba. At just 20 pounds, she is still growing and learning about the world around her while soaking up every bit of love and attention she can get.
She is currently living in a short-term foster home where she is getting a chance to experience home life and continue building confidence. She is great with the other dogs in the home. Like most puppies her age, she is curious, playful, and eager to explore. Her foster mentioned she is particularly cuddly and likes to be carried around like a baby.
Zoey would thrive in a home ready for all the fun — and responsibility — that comes with raising a puppy. She will benefit from continued training, structure, socialization, and plenty of playtime as she grows into a wonderful companion.

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up-to-date dewormer, vaccinations, heartworm prevention (age appropriate), and certified veterinarian inspection within 30 days of adoption.

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.) Apply: Fill out an adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.
2.) Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.
3.) Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: After approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit.
4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.
5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process, we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.
6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI, or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $125 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old.
