Flamingo Needs a Foster or Adopter by 5/29 to Secure Her Ride to Wisconsin
Flamingo is currently in a shelter in Georgia and needs a foster or adopter to secure her spot on the transport to Cedarburg with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on 5/29. A committed home is required for her to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there for this sweet girl.
Meet Flamingo
Flamingo is a 3-year-old Aussie/Jack Russell mix (best guess) who is ready for a completely fresh start after a very difficult life. She came from a rough neglect situation in Georgia, and her previous owners are reportedly facing neglect charges. Despite everything she’s been through, Flamingo continues to be an incredibly sweet, loving girl who just wants safety, comfort, and people to love her.
She has had multiple litters over the past year, including the adorable Brewers litter and Old Fashioned litter that we are also hoping to bring north with her. After spending so much of her life caring for puppies, it’s finally Flamingo’s turn to be cared for and spoiled in a home of her own.
Flamingo is dog, cat, and kid friendly, making her a great fit for many different families. She’s a super cute, affectionate girl who enjoys attention and being around people. At just 23 pounds, she’s a wonderful medium-small size for cuddling, adventures, and everyday companionship.
She will likely be spayed before transport and is available for foster or adoption starting 5/29.
Age: 3 Years
Gender: Female
Weight: 23 lbs

Flamingo has already survived so much and deserves the chance to finally experience what a loving home feels like. If you’re able to foster or adopt this resilient little girl, please apply today.

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.) Apply: Fill out an adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.
2.) Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.
3.) Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: After approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit.
4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.
5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process, we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.
6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI, or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $125 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old.
**Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
