DESCRIPTION
Ruger is on borrowed time at San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter and we are his only way out. In order to rescue him, we need a foster or adopter.
Ruger is a 1.5 year old, 53 pound dog who was adopted out as a puppy and returned in emaciated condition nine months later. He was then under deadline because the shelter was full, and was adopted at the last minute and returned again several days later. He is an energetic young dog who still needs to learn manners, and he sometimes gets overexcited and is "jumpy/mouthy." He urgently needs a SUITABLE home with kind, patient people to help him learn manners and experience stability.
Ruger may be good with older kids but he needs an adults-only home while we get to know him better.
