male, extra large, adult
DESCRIPTION
Phoenix is a gentle, gorgeous guy with a few nicks and stiff joints, par for the course for a 6-year-old extra large dog. He weighs about 105 pounds, and he's looking for a home where he can lounge on the couch or patrol the yard as he prefers. He takes a little bit of time to settle in to a new home, but once he does, he's easygoing, not destructive, and just a joy to be around.
He has been serving as emotional support dog for his very timid fellow foster dog, Lindy, and has helped her to be braver with new people. They can be adopted together or separately.
Phoenix's ideal home is semi-rural or rural, adults only, with another friendly, easygoing dog. He tends to bark at passing dogs in his urban neighborhood and needs a home where either he doesn't see them, or it's not a problem.
We do a trial period before finalizing adoptions, so if you're interested but not certain, go ahead and apply!

ABOUT: GREAT DANE DOG BREED
The Great Dane is a majestic and gentle giant known for its impressive size and friendly demeanor. With roots dating back to ancient times, this breed is valued for its noble appearance and loyal temperament. Great Danes are known to be excellent family companions, often forming strong bonds with their owners. Despite their intimidating stature, they are generally gentle and affectionate, making them great pets for families of all sizes. Their easygoing nature and playful personality make them a popular choice for those seeking a loving and regal companion.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
