Bearded Collie and Havanese Dogs Available for Adoption in Boulder, Colorado

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. Puppies are so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them lost and alone on city streets or at a high-kill shelter at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space.

Juneau now 5 months old and 20 lbs (estimated to be full grown at approximately 35 lbs), was facing the end of his life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this beautiful and sweet as can be puppy. They responded just in time to save Juneau's precious life. He's now scheduled for her freedom ride to Colorado and a new and wonderful life.

Juneau is a stunning Bearded Collie / Havanese mix (as identified by shelter veterinarians. All we know for certain is that he's irresistible!) that is just waiting to be the love of a special family's life. He's a sweet / loving and super-healthy guy with a stunning coat and the cutest markings ever! Since Juneau's rescue, while still a bit shy, he's blooming into a happy go lucky pup with fun and silliness on his mind.

Since Juneau is just a baby, he's a blank slate who is very open to a kind and patient human showing him the way. He has all the potential in the world to become an awesome adult companion. Sweet Juneau will form firm bonds with his family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn his socialization skills through positive reinforcement / force- free obedience classes. It does take time and commitment, yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Since Farfel's feels very strongly about giving Juneau the best possible start in life, we're not willing to adopt him out to a home that's unwilling to participate in a training protocol. We're happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force- free virtual and in-person trainers in your area.

We're open to Juneau finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with the commitment and energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart puppy. Juneau enjoys children as well. We would prefer to place him in a home with older kids that can participate in play and fun as well as training. Children are an integral part of a training regimen that's so important in a puppy's future behavior.

Farfel's feels that is isn't in Juneau's best interest to be placed with a family that works full-time outside of the home. It's not in his best interest as a puppy in his developmental stages to spend these long hours alone. A family or individual that works from a home-based office would be great for periodic puppy-loving and walks throughout the day.

Juneau will be up to date on his vetting and vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy puppies. He has also been neutered to be true to Farfel's work in hopes of eradicating euthanasia for space in the canine population.

Farfel’s Farm & Rescue was founded on the idea that each dog deserves a loving home and the chance for a happy life. We are so thrilled to be able to rescue these amazing dogs from urgent situations in Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas and Cancun, Mexico. Working with a dedicated team of volunteers, the dogs are pulled from high-kill shelters because they’ve been recognized for the gifts they will bring to a loving family. They are then transported by specially licensed vans to Colorado for a second chance at life.
