Meet Tansy
Tansy is a 3-year-old, 23-pound Beagle who would like to formally announce that three legs are not a limitation They are an upgrade.
Over a year ago, Tansy was adopted from a shelter. Recently, she was found again as a stray with a broken front leg. We later learned it had been that way since last May. Tansy’s response? “Not ideal, but I’ll manage.”
And manage she did. For nearly a year, she just carried on, already living her best tripawd life before anyone made it official. Now that the leg is gone, so is the pain, and Tansy is out here like, “Wow. Mobility. Balance. Comfort. Highly recommend.”
She’s moving better, feeling better, and embracing life like she’s got places to be and snacks to find.
Now let’s talk personality… because Tansy is a character.
First, she does not know her name. Not a clue. Zero recognition. Her foster dad can’t remember it and rotates between “Little One” and “Baby Girl,”. Foster mom suspects he’s also missing a few of his own brain cells at this point because he can never remember where he put his car keys, wallet, or coffee cup. What we do know is that Tansy has him completely wrapped around her tiny paw, and she is absolutely using that power.
For a Beagle, Tansy is suspiciously quiet. Her signature Beagle bay appears to have been lost somewhere along her journey. We have checked lost and found. Nothing. She has not barked once in her foster home, and frankly, no one is eager to fix this.
Tansy does great with other dogs, but her real priority is her people. She is a full-time, highly dedicated shadow. If you move, she moves. If you sit, she’s there. If you even think about going to bed, she will beat you there and be waiting like she’s been warming your spot for hours.
Her preferred sleeping arrangement is near your pillow, unless she’s cold, in which case she will burrow under the covers like a tiny, heat-seeking missile. Mornings are not her thing. Tansy will not be getting out of bed until you insist.
She loves to sunbathe and would do best with a physically fenced yard where she can safely soak up her daily dose of sunshine. She also does great in the car and would happily accompany you everywhere as your loyal, slightly spoiled co-pilot.
Tansy is equal parts resilient, hilarious, and completely devoted. She’s traded pain for comfort, uncertainty for love, and four legs for a much better deal—and she’s never looked back.
If you’re looking for a dog with personality, perspective, and just the right amount of sass, Tansy is ready to run your household on three perfectly functional legs.
Tansy is housetrained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped.
