BESSIE IS CURRENTLY FOSTERED NEAR CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA.

Bessie is an approximately 8-year-old Beagle/Dachshund mix with a heart full of love and a nose thats always ready for the next adventure. This sweet girl is looking for a family to spend her golden years with, and shes ready to shower them with affection.

Bessie loves cuddling with her people, exploring the outdoors, and following her nose wherever it leads. She forms strong bonds with her favorite humans and is happiest when shes close by. She is also very food motivated, making her eager to learn and easy to reward during training.

Bessie is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash, though she may pull occasionally if something interesting catches her attention. She knows sit and go to bed, but sometimes gets so excited that her happy, bouncy personality takes over.

Bessie gets along with other dogs, though she can be a little dominant at times. She does well with children and would love a family that enjoys including her in daily life. If given the chance, Bessie may decide to head off on a little adventure, so a securely fenced yard or leash is important to help keep this curious girl safe.

Bessie is heartworm positive, which is common among strays in the South. The good news is that she is completing treatment and is on her way to being heartworm negative soon. If you have any questions about her health, please dont hesitate to reach out via email.

Bessie is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, on monthly preventative, dewormed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $450.
