Priscilla - Beagle Dog for Adoption in Chicago, Illinois

Priscilla would love to find her forever home. She has been waiting patiently and she is ready to get comfy and steal your heart and or couch. Each of our remaining Ridglan Beagles have requirements so please do not apply unless you read and fit the following:

Requirements for Priscilla:
- Applicant must live in or within 3 hours of Chicago.
- The household must have a CONFIDENT dog in the household that can show her the ropes and help her trust her humans. The resident dog should be in the home at least 6 months to ensure he/she has had sufficient time to adjust and display their true personality and behavior, allowing us to better evaluate compatibility.
- Priscilla does not need a yard but we do want to ensure that her selected adopters are aware that if they do not have a yard slow and steady will be essential when exposing her to her new environment.
- Priscilla does like to sing the song of her people when she is in a kennel so if you live in a apartment/condo versus single family home this will be something that you need to give extra time to work on or ensure that you can properly give her a smaller space when your not home to ensure that she learns her environment without getting overwhelmed.

Our goal is to find adopters who are willing to trust the process and remain open-minded as we work closely with our foster families to determine the best match for both the adopter and the dog.

These dogs will need a great deal of support from their future families. Breed experience is strongly preferred, and all adopters should be prepared to provide patience, understanding, and a commitment to helping their new companion adjust to life in a home environment.

To help ensure the best possible match, our adoption process includes the following steps:

- We will conduct a veterinary reference check to verify that current pets are up to date on vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and are spayed or neutered.
- We will schedule a video call to learn more about your household, lifestyle, and expectations. During this conversation, we will also share important information about the dogs and their backgrounds. A virtual home visit will also be completed at this time.
- If selected, we will arrange a meet and greet that includes ALL family members.

The Beagle is a beloved breed known for its friendly nature, curious personality, and distinctive howl. These small to medium sized dogs are incredibly sociable and get along well with both humans and other pets. Beagles are curious and energetic, always eager to follow a scent with their incredible sense of smell, making them excellent hunting and tracking dogs. Their short coat is easy to maintain, and they are adaptable to various living environments, making them popular companions for families and individuals alike.
