Bear, a big hunk of burnin' love in a cuddly teddy bear form, is ready to find his forever bestie. If you've ever had an Aussie, you will understand when we say "Velcro". Forget about enjoying your bathroom by yourself when you adopt Bear. That tiny closet you have to go into to get your vacuum cleaner? There better be room for you and Bear. He is a truly devoted people person, umm, we mean dog. He will follow his human all over the house, remember Velcro. You don't have to worry about being alone when you adopt Bear. He'll be right there - resting his head in your lap, bringing a toy for you to admire, rolling over for belly rubs, and even singing a song if you are not paying enough attention to the services he is providing.
Bear lost his dad suddenly and his elderly mom didn't have the ability to care for Bear. He put on some pounds while his mom tried to cope with her loss and take care of Bear. His foster home has significantly increased his activity level which has helped Bear on his weight loss journey. His new family will want to continue this wellness trend.
Bear is a big goofy boy. He is house trained and trustworthy indoors. He loves outdoor play sessions more than anything else and will chase a ball or frisbee repeatedly. He loves to destroy and conquer all enemy stuffies and would love if his person would participate. Bear is friendly with other dogs but because he's always been an only dog, he doesn't really understand dog etiquette. He can be a little socially awkward to some dogs, trying to play when they don't want to, and over-zealously sniffing when not appropriate. As long as interactions are supervised, he can be social with males or females. Bear has never been around cats and would likely consider them giant squirrels.
Bear would love to find a home where he is the apple of his person's eye. He promises to give back in the best way, by settling at your feet in the evenings and entertaining you during the day.
Bear has had regular vet care and is healthy and happy, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is about 6-years old. He is being fostered in Olympia, WA but we have volunteer drivers who would be happy to help transport him anywhere in the PNW for a perfect match!
