Harlo - Mini Aussie - Coming Soon - Australian Shepherd Dog for Adoption in League City, Texas

Harlo is a 3 year old, 20 lb mini Australian shepherd mix with the heart of a herding dog. He loves his people, running in the yard and playing with his squeaky toys. He will want to be your best friend and likes cuddling on the bed. Harlo is an energetic dog and, like most herding dogs, will need an outlet for his energy and focus. Harlo is crate trained, walks well on a leash and loves affection from his family. He gets along well and plays with the dogs in his foster home but he doesn't like all dogs.

Harlo currently struggles with anxiety and socialization issues and is often nervous and reactive around new people and in new places. He will need an experienced dog owner that is willing to invest the time and energy into helping him adjust into a new home and would benefit from training to help him overcome his anxiety and build confidence. Harlo will need a home without children.

All dogs typically show on Saturdays from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Petco in Clear Lake at 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday! The adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas.

The Australian Shepherd is a highly intelligent and energetic herding dog known for its loyalty and work ethic. Originating in the United States, despite its name, this breed is prized for its agility, trainability, and versatility in various dog sports and activities. Australian Shepherds have a distinctive medium length coat that comes in different colors, often with unique merle patterns. With proper training, socialization, and exercise, these dogs make excellent companions for active families and individuals seeking a devoted and playful four legged friend.
