Meet Remington!!

Remington was with the same family for the first five years of his life. When the family went through a divorce, they posted on Facebook that they needed to rehome him. As Australian Shepherd lovers ourselves, we reached out and offered to take him into rescue. They agreed, and we swooped in to bring him to safety. Imagine our surprise when we picked him up and discovered he was tipping the scales at **102 pounds**!!

Remi is your typical Aussie in all the best ways—loyal, cuddly, smart, and always alert. Because of his current size, he's a lower-energy boy, but his amazing foster family has him on a healthy diet and has been taking him on several walks throughout the day to help the scale move in the right direction. His ideal weight is closer to 60 pounds so he has some work to do, but the good news is he's otherwise completely healthy and absolutely loves his walks.

Remi lives with several friendly dogs and cats in his foster home and gets along great with all of them. He already knows "sit" and "hug" and is an incredibly well-behaved, sweet boy. Since starting his weight-loss plan, he's become a little protective of his food around other dogs, so we'd recommend feeding him separately for now. He also loves toys and is always up for a game of fetch!

Remi is the definition of a gentle giant and absolutely adores kids. His "person" in his first home was a 16-year-old, and it's clear that special bond has turned into a love for all little humans.

We want to find Remi a family that's committed to helping him reach his ideal weight. He's far too young to be carrying around all those extra pounds, and we know his best adventures are still ahead of him. We hope the second half of his life is filled with hikes, room to roam, endless cuddles, and all the love he deserves. He's a sensitive, emotional guy with a huge heart and so much love to give.
