Not long ago, Kodiak was completely shut down in a high-kill shelter, so paralyzed by fear and stress that she was tragically just hours away from being put down.

But deep down, Kodiak wanted to trust. Thanks to the dedicated volunteers who refused to give up on her, she slowly began to realize she was safe. The turning point came the day she finally let us slip a leash on her—and from that moment on, her true colors began to shine. Her tail started wagging, her walls came down, and she officially traded her fear for pure joy, showing everyone just how resilient a dog’s heart can be.

Today, Kodiak has completely transformed into a happy, wiggly girl who absolutely loves life and loves to play. While she was once afraid of the world, she has always been incredibly dog friendly and finds so much comfort and confidence in the company of other canines and her foster mom.
