This tiny pint of soap is Emmitt, littermate to Bella, also posted here. As you can see, Emmitt looks like a miniature blue Heeler. Who knows who his parents are but he's not going to be big when he grows up, maybe 20-pounds?
Emmitt is very sweet. And while he's a small-scale version of an Australian Cattle dog, he's as smart as the big ones, packing all that heeler brain into a purse-sized puppy. Like most herding dogs, Emmitt is a little shy on first meeting. But patience and tasty treats help him learn that strangers are the giver of good things for small puppies.
Emmitt is doing well with his crate training. We are working on house training and he should catch on to that concept quickly. He's a very easy-going puppy and likes other dogs. He even gets along with cats. Emmitt is very playful but can be cautious. As he builds more confidence he is likely to become more active, zoomie alert!
Emmitt will be a great family member, small enough to take anywhere but big enough to keep up on hikes and other adventures. He is located in Newport, WA, about an hour north of Spokane.
If you are interested in adopting Emmitt, please fill out the application on our website at: https://www.westernaustralianshepherdrescue.com/adoption-application.html.
We schedule meet n greets after a completed application which includes a home visit and reference checks. We will be looking for forever homes who have a plan for training, exercise, and socialization to help Emmitt be his best in most situations.
