Meet Macie!

At just 4 months old, Macie already has a story that could have ended very differently. On a freezing January night—with temperatures in the teens—she, her seven siblings, and their mama were dumped in the woods, left to fend for themselves. But Macie is a survivor. Thanks to quick action and compassionate hearts, they were scooped up and brought into warm, safe, loving foster homes where they've been able to grow and thrive.

Macie is bold. She’s brilliant. She’s all heeler.

Macie is an active, intelligent puppy with a spark that never turns off. She’s curious about everything, always on the move, and ready to take on whatever adventure comes her way. She loves to play, especially with other dogs who can keep up with her energy, and she’s constantly learning, thinking, and figuring things out. This girl is not here for a boring life—she’s here to live life to the fullest.

Heelers are incredible dogs—but they’re not for everyone. They are driven, athletic, and incredibly smart, which means they need structure, training, and enrichment to truly thrive. Without it, they can become frustrated, nippy, or labeled as “too much”—when in reality, they just need the right outlet and guidance.

Because of this, we are prioritizing adopters who know heelers and are fully committed to giving Macie the life she deserves—one filled with activity, purpose, and consistency. She’s not a couch potato, and she’s not going to magically “grow out of it.” She’s going to grow into an incredible, loyal, hardworking companion for the right person with you helping her be the best dog she can be.

Macie does well with other dogs who can match her play style. She hasn’t been tested with cats. Due to her energy level and those typical herding instincts (hello, nippy puppy phase!), she would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy kids.

Once submitted, we will reach out to approved applicants by phone. We may also suggest other amazing dogs in our care who could be a great fit for your home.

LOCATION & TRANSPORT:

This dog is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out of town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. (The $425 adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing. Our transports run every 2-3 weeks to that location.) We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.

VETTING:

All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.
