Kane - American Staffordshire Terrier Dog for Adoption in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

When volunteers first met Kane and his brother Steven, they were both terrified. Earlier shelter notes said they wouldn't even walk on leash and were scared of the staff. But with a little patience and kindness, both boys have started to come out of their shells. Now their notes describe them as wiggly dogs who love pets and baby talk.

Kane was a little nervous about leaving his kennel, but baby talk and a few treats helped him find the courage. Once he realized he was safe, he showed everyone what a sweet boy he is. He did great meeting another dog, was very submissive, patiently let the volunteer dress him up for pictures, and even flopped over and "played dead" while soaking up the attention.

Kane isn't asking for much. He just needs someone willing to be patient and show him that the world isn't as scary as he thinks it is.
