Meet Abster! This stunning two-year-old boy sports a jaw-dropping golden brindle coat. Weighing in at a magnificent 98 pounds, he is undeniably a big boy, but if you ask him, he is just a giant, oversized lap dog waiting to steal your heart (and your favorite pillow). Abster is truly a diamond in the rough—a silly, gentle, and deeply loyal boy who just needs the right family to help him truly shine.

What makes Abster so special are his hilarious, heartwarming signature moves. This goofy guy has zero concept of his size and insists on sleeping in bed with you, preferably right on your pillow or tucked close to your head. When he drifts off, he loves to roll onto his back, paws in the air, without a care in the world. He also has a comical habit of flipping his dog bed completely upside down and crawling underneath it to use it like a blanket. When he isn't rearranging his bedding, you can find him tossing his chew bones high into the air just for the fun of it, squeaking his favorite toys, or enjoying a crisp slice of watermelon. And his absolute favorite activity is sunbathing, happily lounging in the grass and soaking up the warm rays.

Abster is as brilliant as he is handsome. He is completely housebroken, walks like a total gentleman on a leash, and already knows commands like "sit" and "shake." Because he is still a young, active dog with a lot of love to give, his family has been working with him on not jumping up when he gets excited—he just gets so genuinely happy to see his humans that he can't contain his joy! He is incredibly treat-oriented and gentle when taking snacks right from your hand, making him a dream to continue training.

Abster was adopted last year alongside another male dog, but as they grew up, it became clear that they weren't making the best pair. At this stage, we're looking to place him as the only pet in the home as that will be easiest on everyone. He wants to be the absolute king of your castle, giving you 100% of his heart. Trust us, with a personality this wonderfully big and entertaining, he is more than enough love for one home!

LOCATION & TRANSPORT:

Abster was adopted from our rescue in South Mississippi and is currently in Glassboro, NJ. We will review any applications and then get you in touch with his current family. We are seeking a home within a few hours of Glassboro and the adoption fee in that case would be $100. (Generally large adult dogs including transport to your area are $300 — in the case we match you with a different dog.) We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.

VETTING:

All of our dogs arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped. Note: We cannot guarantee breed mix. It is a guess based on physical characteristics and any known history.
