Meet Espresso, better known as Bean!

Bean is currently living at the shelter and is eligible for BFAR’s Foster to Adopt program.

Bean is a 4 year old XL American Bully/Staffy mix who weighs approximately 70 pounds. He has been with BFAR since May 2025 and has become a favorite of the volunteers who know him best.

Bean is affectionate, loyal, playful, and loves being with his people. He enjoys walks, sniffing, enrichment activities, car rides, and adventures. Once his needs are met, he is happy to stretch out on the floor and relax.

AT HOME: Bean is house trained, crate trained, and has leash skills. He thrives with a structured routine that includes exercise, enrichment, obedience work, and planned time to settle.

PERSONALITY: When excited, Bean can become mouthy and physical in his play. He does best with someone who provides clear, consistent expectations. Once he builds a relationship with his person, he is focused, affectionate, and eager to work with them.

CHILDREN: Older children only, 16+.

OTHER ANIMALS: Bean cannot live with male dogs. A female dog may be considered following careful introductions directed by BFAR. Large group daycare is not appropriate for him. Cats are unknown.

BEST FIT: Bean needs an active, calm, and structured home with an experienced large breed or bully breed handler. His person must be committed to building a relationship through consistency, training, and appropriate outlets for his energy.

ONGOING CARE: Bean must remain on Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein and takes Reconcile daily for anxiety. His adopter will need to purchase an Impact crate, establish a veterinarian before adoption, and begin training with a BFAR approved trainer within 1 to 2 months.

With the right structure and an experienced person by his side, Bean will be a loving, loyal, and enthusiastic companion.

All of our dogs are up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and on preventatives.
