Meet Rocky, a handsome and adventurous Alaskan Malamute who is ready to find the loving family he truly deserves. Rocky came to the shelter through no fault of his own after his previous owners could no longer care for him, but despite his past, his spirit remains bright and eager. When he first arrived, he was in very poor condition, struggling with severe allergies that left him itchy and covered in open wounds. A simple, steady diet, he has made a lot of progress and is feeling so much better, though his future family will need to strictly manage his sensitive skin and ensure he receives only special, allergy-safe treats.
This active boy is always ready to go anywhere and do anything with his humans, making him a wonderful companion for outdoor adventures. His adopters must have a working knowledge of Northern Breeds and understand their unique personality traits, vocal habits, and energetic shenanigans. Rocky is dreaming of finding a dedicated home that can give him all the care, structure, and endless love he has been waiting for.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
