About Me:

Hi there, I’m Temperance! I was strolling along a gravel road with my siblings when I was scooped up and brought to a new place. I was pretty spooked by this change and I’m not quite sure who I can trust quite yet. I can say, it’s really relaxing to have warm blankets and I really enjoy having a minnow treat here and there. I LOVE treats! I love playing with my siblings and sometimes I enjoy a quick pet from my foster mom. I tell her all about my day and thank her for all the treats she shares with me. I’m looking for a quiet place and a gentle human to help me break out of my shell. If you are patient with me, I know we will be best friends for life.

From the foster: Temperance is such a sweetheart! She is a very tender girl with a huge heart. She is fantastic with the litter-box and regularly grooms herself. She is looking for her safe and trustworthy person to show her that it’s okay to get close. She is always watching her siblings receive affection and lingers close by. Sometimes she “forgets” her own fear and is so happy to receive a couple pets. She will quickly realize and retreat. Her big moon eyes glow with the desire and need to be loved from her safe little comfy nook. Sometimes she will greet me with a vibrating rattlesnake tail sticking straight up because she is so excited. She is soothed when she is talked to and will howl when she finds herself lonely. She will communicate clearly with a hiss and a swipe when her boundaries are tested. Overall, with some patience and tenderness, Temperance would be a fantastic companion in a calm home.
