Good with dogs? No, Oliver is afraid of dogs.
Good with cats? No, Oliver is afraid of other cats.
Good with kids? Yes, so far he has met kids aged 7 and 9 and been great with them.
Energy level: Low, but he has brief bursts of zoomies and playtime, and likes to throw his boy balls around. He loves catnip! He will lay on the window sill and happily watch the outdoors.
Medical needs: Oliver was missing most of his teeth when he came to PawsCo. He just had a big dental cleaning with more extractions. His three remaining teeth will need to be monitored with regular veterinary care for any reoccurrence of gingivitis.
Oliver is FIV+. FIV is a feline-only retrovirus that affects a cat’s immune system. An adopter should be aware that FIV can make a cat more vulnerable to other medical issues because their immune system is not as strong as an FIV negative cat. FIV is not transferable to humans or dogs and can only be transferred to other cats through a deep cat bite. Since Oliver is afraid of other cats, he should not live with other kitties anyway.
Animal Characteristics: Oliver is an incredibly sweet, curious, social kitty. He loves to be near his people and is affectionate and companionable while also being chill and enjoying quiet time and space. He is a big gorgeous floof who likes to be petted and loves to be brushed so that his luxurious fur stays beautiful! He can be picked up for short periods of time and snuggled, and will curl up to sleep at the foot of your bed. Sadly, Oliver lost his home because he is so afraid of other animals and is losing his safe, purrsonal space because a baby is on the way. He adjusted smoothly to his foster home and came right out to begin exploring. He is an easygoing, gentle, lovable sweetheart and has excellent manners. Oliver is ready to be your one and only best friend kitty in his cozy forever home!
