GETTING TO KNOW ME
LaLaLa Lola, is shy, laid back girl who has a great big heart and will need an understanding home. At first, she is timid and may flinch with pets until she trusts you. Lola will do best in a quiet, cat savvy, adult-only home. Lola's main mission in life is to bond with a family and be loved and blossom into the best version of herself. In order to accomplish that mission, she will take time to settle in and learn to trust her new people. Her huge gold eyes will lure you in every time.
IDEAL HOME
Lola is not for every home. She is timid and will startle with fast or sudden movement. We are looking for a calm, quieter home with gentle hands ready to help her blossom. A family that enjoys spending time at home would be Lola's wish. Being picked up makes Lola very nervous and uncomfortable. For now, she prefers to keep her feet on the ground. Consensual interactions will win her over slowly but surely. Maybe someday she will be brave enough to join you on the couch.
Lola will do best in an adult only home, with no dogs. Lola would be good with Pippy the kitty she came in with or another docile, calm kitty that would co-exist with her and certainly not chase her. We feel she would be okay as a single pet too as long as her people are dedicated to doting upon her.
To get comfy with people, Churus and wet food will help! Before long she will meow at you for treats and pets. She does have a curious personality that will come out if you give her time. Like all cats a cat tree by a window will make her very happy. Give her a catnip mouse or a spring toy and you will catch her running around, batting around her toys. Although she tends to be a couch potato. Once comfy, Lola does love to be brushed and will roll around so you get all the good spots. She uses a flat corrugated scratching post but also has a tall post available.
Lola is perfect with her bathroom habits and she uses a large open top litter box with an unscented, scoopable litter. She's pretty easy with food and enjoys Chewy grain free turkey and chicken kibble, canned Fancy Feast, Tiki Cat Mousse, A Strong Heart split cup chicken.
She can hardly wait for a family to call her own. Are you her match?
CARE REQUIREMENTS
*Feeding: Chewy grain free turkey and chicken dry food, Fancy Feast, Tiki Cat Mousse, A Strong Heart split cup chicken.
*Litter: Large, open-style box with unscented clumping litter (one box per cat, plus one extra).
*Grooming: Once comfortable, combing and then a slicker once a week with a nail trim monthly should keep her looking glorious. Her eyes stay pretty clean for an Exotic Shorthair and once she's comfortable you can keep the fur around her eyes clean by wiping with a cotton round with Eye Envy(available direct from Eye Envy or Amazon).
TRANSITION TIPS
Lola needs a patient family who understands that settling in takes time, often up to 3 months. Lola will absolutely need to start out in a "base camp" room like a bedroom or office in her new home, while she becomes familiar and comfortable with her new people and environment. She'll let you know when shes ready to explore more of the home. She can be fearful with travel and vet visits so 100mg of Gabapentin for a Fear Free experience that will help her to relax is recommended. Please research bringing home a new cat & proper cat introduction. YouTube has many great Jackson Galaxy videos to help.
VETTING PROVIDED
Exam, spayed, tested negative for FELV/FIV, FVRCP and rabies vaccinated, completed parasite protocol, and is microchipped. Medical Records are supplied at adoption completion.
LOCATION AND ADOPTION
Fostered in Valparaiso, Indiana (45 min from Chicago and SW Michigan, 2 hours from Wisconsin).
Adoption fee $500.00
