Meet Fergus & Faith — two little hearts learning that the world can be a safe place, and would be ideal to be adopted together.
Fergus and Faith came to us from a recycling facility. They aren't siblings, but they became quite close and absolutely love playing together. They've only been indoors for about three weeks, and already they're showing us just how much they can learn and grow with patience, love, and time.
Fergus is the more outgoing of the two. He's still a little unsure of people, but his playful side is coming out more and more. He loves all kinds of toys, will chase a laser, and has a very good appetite. One of the cutest things is watching him climb into his foster's lap just to catch a toy! He's cautious, but he's also curious, playful, and very sweet. He enjoys being petted, although being picked up still makes him nervous.
Faith is a little shyer and is still learning that being inside is safe and that humans can be trusted. She has started to play when she sees the other kittens playing, which is such a wonderful sign. She isn't comfortable being picked up yet and may try to run away when she feels unsure, but she has already shown us that she can learn to trust. With more time, patience, and gentle exposure to kindness, we truly believe her sweet personality will shine.
Both Fergus and Faith can be petted, and both are good kittens who just need someone who understands that trust doesn't happen overnight. They especially seem to become more playful and confident when everything is quiet and their humans are asleep.
We would love to see Fergus and Faith adopted together, because they genuinely enjoy each other's company and love playing together. That said, Faith would likely also benefit from having another confident, friendly cat to show her that humans are good and that she has nothing to fear. She tends to follow the lead of the other cats, and we think a confident feline friend could help her continue coming out of her shell.
These two don't need a perfect home — they need a patient home. A family who understands shy cats, gives them time to decompress, and lets them build trust at their own pace.
Three weeks indoors has already made such a difference for Faith. Imagine how far she could come with a family who gives her the time she deserves.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.
Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it's twice the fun for you, and half the work!
