Stamford Baby: Cove - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption

If our kitten Cove were a neighborhood — he'd be exactly what The Cove in Stamford is: coastal, curious, and always ready for an adventure.

The real Cove is where city meets the shore — beaches you can walk to, a wildlife sanctuary at Cove Island Park, fishing piers, and those little shingled cottages along tree-lined streets. It's easygoing but always looking outward.

That's Cove the kitten. Foster mom Claudia says when she unzips the playpen, Cove and his brother Westover are always the first to try and climb out — and you can see it in his photos, paw over the edge, big eyes scanning for what's next. Like his namesake, he just wants to see what's beyond the harbor.

At heart though, he's a cuddler. He came to us as a tiny bottle baby from Stamford ACO with his brothers Westover, Glenbrook and Shippan, and Claudia says all four are very cuddly and love being held. He'll lead the expedition out of the playpen, do a full perimeter check of the immaculate white-carpet room, then boomerang right back into your arms.

White with that perfect gray toupée and those "did you see that?!" eyes.

Cove would love a home with a window to watch the world — and a lap to come home to.

As a general rule, we recommend that young kittens only go in pairs or to households that already have another pet. Young kittens on their own, no matter how much attention they get from humans, usually get bored and tend to be more destructive. They need another animal to help socialize them (to learn how to appropriately wrestle, boundaries, etc). Most times having another cat is the best, though some may be okay with a gentle dog.

All of our adoptable animals are cared for and assessed in foster homes (we do not have a shelter), up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV, before they are adopted. They have had de-worming medication as a standard of care and Flea/Tick/Ear Mite preventive treatment. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet.
