Not every cat is going to climb into your lap the moment they meet you, and that's perfectly okay. I'm Sandy, a beautiful 3-year-old brown-and-gold tabby with gorgeous markings, a little bit of sass, and a whole lot of potential.

I came to the shelter on June 13 when my family had to move into temporary housing that didn't allow pets. They loved me and didn't want to leave me behind, but they had no other choice.

Right now, you'll probably find me relaxing in my favorite hidey box. It's where I like to watch everything before deciding whether you're worthy of my attention. I can be a little spicy while I'm getting to know you, but once I have time to settle in, I think you'll start to see the sweet girl behind my independent personality.

I'm good with other cats, litterbox trained, and I appreciate people who understand that friendships don't always happen overnight. Sometimes the strongest bonds are built one quiet moment at a time.
