Shirley came into the Shelter after her previous guardian was unable to continue caring for her along with their other cats. Shirley went to a foster home to raise her four kittens and is now ready for adoption herself. Her foster reports: Shirley is one of the sweetest girl kitties you will ever meet! She was a wonderful young mama to four kittens, and now it’s her turn to be pampered and loved as this beautiful cat deserves. Friendly, easygoing and unafraid of new humans, she loves to be petted while being held or sitting on your lap. She also loves a bit of cooked chicken as a special treat. In her foster home, she was not a fan of the resident dog (a large breed). That was most likely due to being protective of her kittens, but she might do best in a home without dogs. Just look at her distinctive markings and gorgeous green eyes! Bring Shirley home with you today for a lifetime of love and purrs. Fun fact about Shirley - she likes to drink water from the faucet! So cute! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
