COURTESY POST - URGENT! MAY 28th DEADLINE. These kitties are urgent in the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter. They were abandoned and have now been given a shelter deadline.
Shelter plea:
We are reaching out on behalf of two abandoned cats currently in need of rescue placement: Samantha #A550304 and Tabitha #A550306. Samantha is an 8-year-old spayed black domestic shorthair, and Tabitha is a spayed 3-year-old female brown tabby domestic shorthair. On April 14th, shelter staff arrived to find a wire crate left at the shelter entrance containing three cats: Samantha, Tabitha, and another female cat who has since been adopted. Unfortunately, Samantha and Tabitha remain in the shelter and are struggling significantly in the kennel environment.
Samantha is extremely frightened and overwhelmed. She is currently hissing, hiding, and backing away from touch. The shelter setting has been very stressful for her, and she is not showing her true personality to potential adopters.
Tabitha is beginning to warm up but remains very timid. She initially runs and hides, needing time and patience to feel safe. However, if someone sits quietly with her, she will lean into pets and purr, showing signs that she wants comfort and connection.
Both cats are not doing well in the shelter environment and are not presenting well to adopters due to stress and fear. They urgently need a calm environment where they can decompress and feel safe again. We are asking that Samantha and Tabitha leave the shelter by 5:00 PM on 05/28/2026, either together or separately.
