Jolie – Wobbly, Wonderful, and Full of Heart

Hi there! My name is Jolie, and I may do things a little differently, but I don't let that stop me from enjoying life.

I was found as a stray and brought to Oakland Animal Services before making my way to Give Me Shelter. I have moderate cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a neurological condition I was born with that makes me a little wobbly when I walk. The good news? It isn't painful, it isn't contagious, and it doesn't slow me down nearly as much as you might think. I always find my way wherever I want to go!

I'm a naturally curious girl. Once I think you're not watching, I'm off exploring every corner of the room, investigating anything new, and seeing what adventures await. I also love toys and am perfectly happy entertaining myself, though I'd never turn down a play session with you.

When we first meet, I might be a little cautious if you approach me too quickly. Give me a little time, settle in, and you'll see my confidence grow. Before long, I'll be scooting a little closer, keeping you company, and once we're friends, I'll even meow to let you know I'd like some attention. I'm also told my sploots are a perfect 10 out of 10!

One thing I know for sure—I adore other cats. I love making feline friends and would be thrilled to have a gentle, friendly cat companion who can show me the ropes and keep me company. I especially enjoy watching what the "big cats" are up to and making new friends.

I've figured out all kinds of clever ways to navigate the world. A short, carpeted cat tree is one of my favorite places because I can pull myself up with my strong little forearms and claws to enjoy the view. I'm also an A+ student when it comes to using my litter box. Once my setup is right, I'm really no more work than any other cat.
