Sasha – A Survivor Ready for Her Happy Ending

Sasha's journey to finding a forever home has been nothing short of remarkable. She was discovered abandoned in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood by a kindhearted Good Samaritan who couldn't bear to leave her behind. Thin, disheveled, and missing patches of fur from a flea allergy after trying to survive outdoors, Sasha was clearly a cat who had fallen on hard times.

Her rescuer brought her to SFACC, hoping her family would come for her. Although Sasha had a microchip, no one ever claimed her. When her stray hold ended, her finder received a heartbreaking call: Sasha had less than three days to find a rescue or she would be euthanized.

Sasha was overwhelmed by the shelter and needed a dental procedure, so she wasn't a candidate for adoption at SFACC due to both her behavior and medical evaluations.

But Sasha's story didn't end there.

Her dedicated rescuer rallied friends and posted her all over social media, determined to save her life. A foster-to-adopt home stepped forward, and Give Me Shelter was able to welcome Sasha into the rescue. While everyone hoped she might adjust to sharing her home with another cat, Sasha made it clear that her dream is to be your one and only feline companion.

And honestly, she has more than enough love to fill your home all by herself.

Sasha is the quintessential lap cat. She adores curling up with her people, soaking in affection, and gently giving soft headbutts whenever she's hoping for a few more pets. She especially loves face rubs and scratches behind her ears, and she'll happily melt into your lap while you tell her what a beautiful girl she is. In fact, Sasha loves being talked to—your voice seems to comfort her, and she'll often chat right back, especially when dinner is being prepared.

Don't let her age fool you—Sasha still has plenty of playful spirit. She loves chasing string toys, wrestling with catnip toys, and exploring every corner of her home with confidence and curiosity. She's brave, adaptable, and takes everyday household activity in stride, making herself right at home wherever she goes.

Sasha is also wonderfully food motivated. Churu treats are a favorite, and after her dental, she doesn't let anything slow her down. She happily enjoys her meals and treats and is always excited when it's time to eat.

After everything she's been through, Sasha deserves a family who will never let her wonder if she's loved again.
