Sabrina is on the at risk list for medical reasons. Sabrina has been diagnosed with kidney failure and severe anemia; an acute kidney injury (ie. toxin, kidney infection, other) is suspected. Her bloodwork shows severe elevations in her kidney values as well as a severe anemia; however, Sabrina has clinically improved with supportive care and is eating small amounts and is overall brighter than she was at intake. She will need continued hospitalization with placement and her long-term prognosis is guarded at this time pending continued response to treatment. Behaviorally, Sabrina is fearful, but is warming up. Today she began leaning into petting and purring after warming.
