Meet Marshmallow, a creamy little lynx point with gorgeous blue eyes, a serious appetite for adventure, and a purr that sounds suspiciously like a muscle car. Born June 25, 2026, Marshmallow is part of our Hungry Hippos litter, where every kitten has a food-themed name. And while Marshmallow may look soft and sweet enough to belong on top of a cupcake, don't let the name fool you-this boy has the energy of a race car with the brakes removed.

Marshmallow is good with people and has done well with children, and he's very interested in making friends with other cats. He's still figuring out the whole dog situation. He's curious when a dog is farther away, but once the dog gets closer, he'd prefer to increase the distance between himself and the canine in question. His foster is working with him, and he's making progress. Fast movements can also startle him sometimes, especially when he's being handled, but he's becoming more comfortable every day.

And speaking of progress, this little marshmallow has been melting! He recently started enjoying pets outside of his cage and has become much more comfortable being held. He's happy to sit in a lap when placed there, especially after he's had a chance to burn off some of his considerable kitten energy. He loves neck scratches, belly rubs, and back scratches-which produce an impressive butt lift accompanied by a deep-throated purr that sounds like someone just revved the engine of a muscle car. Apparently, this particular Marshmallow comes with a V8.

When he's not soliciting scratches, Marshmallow is BUSY. He loves climbing anything his paws can reach and will play with absolutely every toy available, but wand toys are his true obsession. He chases them so enthusiastically that he literally drifts across the room. His foster says he would be a race car driver if he had a job, and we can absolutely see it: highly observant, lightning-fast, always watching his surroundings, and apparently incapable of making a turn without drifting. His racing fuel of choice? Kitten Temptations, naturally.

Marshmallow is a high-energy boy who gravitates toward whichever sibling is currently operating at maximum speed. Basically, if there's a kitten zooming, Marshmallow wants to be in the passing lane. After he's exhausted himself, though, he's perfectly happy to park in your lap and enjoy some well-earned cuddles.

Because Marshmallow is a kitten, he is required to be adopted into a home with another kitten or young, playful cat who can keep up with his energy and provide him with the feline companionship he needs.
