female, medium, adult
DESCRIPTION
It's hard to believe this people-cat spent her first four years on the streets of Philadelphia, because Tofurkey was born to be someone's beloved companion. Quick to sidle up to you for a nuzzle session, she transitioned easily from stray to shelter to foster care, where her sweet, cuddly nature shines. She especially loves having her head and back stroked, really leaning into pets and gently headbutting your hand for more.
Tofurkey's other favorite pastimes are sitting on the windowsill watching birds, chilling out in her basket bed, and brightening her foster mom's day with her adorable purr. She has a healthy appetite (dry food), uses her litter box and scratch pad like a champ, and is up-to-date on all her medical care. She does have a permanent but very manageable condition called "pillow foot (aka Plasma Cell Pododermatitis), which is treated with one daily oral dose of doxycycline, an inexpensive antibiotic. PAWS adoption staff can answer any questions about this.
Though Tofurkey has never lived with dogs, other cats (other than in the shelter), or children, she has the potential to learn how with a slow introduction, gentleness, and respect. She is ready to thank whoever provides her an indoor home with the affection they (and she) deserve.
