Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

KITTY KITTY BANG BANG

Domestic Short Hair
🇺🇸
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
April 22nd
male, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang is such a little sweetheart, and he's been through so much! He's had a rough time on the streets- he's tested FeLV+/FIV- and developed scabies while outside as well. He completed his scabies treatment and got neutered, but just before we sent him to an adoption center he developed some new irritation and itchiness on his face. He's now being treated for viral dermatitis and is responding well to treatment to treatment thus far! He can start adoption promo if he continues to do well after treatment.

Skin irritation aside, another big reason for needing foster now is his FeLV+ status. This means he is effectively immuncompromised, so the longer he stays at the shelter, the higher and higher his chances of falling ill become. KKBB is around 2ish years old, give or take, and he'd love to await his forever family in the comfort of a foster home with no other cats. That said, if he's still in PAWS' care by mid-May 2026 we will retest him for FeLV to confirm he is truly positive/has not fought off his exposure to the virus.

------------------------------------

This cat has tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), which is specific to the felines and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy, healthy lives-but it weakens the immune system, causing a shorter life expectancy than cats without FeLV. At PAWS, we believe every pet deserves to live out their life in a loving home for whatever time they have. We hope you'll consider opening your home to this special kitty! FeLV can spread to other cats, so they should live in a cat-free home or with other FeLV+ cats. Our staff will be happy to tell you more about FeLV, and you can learn more about FeLV here: phillypaws.org/felv

FeLV+ adopters are also eligible for an Amazon gift card after adoption and this cat's adoption fee is waived!

------------------------------------

This cat is currently located at PAWS Old City Adoption Center located at 100 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. This location prioritizes appointments made by already approved applicants, but we can also accommodate browsers and walk-ins if and as our capacity allows. To ensure your best experience and best chance at meeting your new furry family member, we recommend completing the application ahead of your visit, which you can find at phillypaws.org/catapp.

If you have any questions, feel free to email adoptions@phillypaws.org or call 215-238-9901 ext.30.
