Max is a handsome gray tabby with a story that could happen to anyone. He is 2 years old, a compact 10 pounds, and until recently he was somebody's beloved cat. When his owner lost their home, Max lost his too. He did nothing wrong. His whole world just disappeared.
We will be honest with you: the shelter is not showing you the real Max. He is scared here, and he has mostly shut down, spending his days curled up small and quiet while he waits for the noise to stop. But the person who knew him best described him as a very sweet boy, and we believe it. Cats like Max do not need to be fixed. They need to be home.
What Max needs is a quiet, patient family who will give him time to decompress, a calm room to start in, and the chance to remember what he already knows: how to be a couch companion, how to trust, how to be somebodys cat again. The reward for that patience is usually the deepest bond of all.
Max is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, so he is ready to go home whenever his person walks through the door.
If you have a soft spot for the overlooked and a quiet lap to offer, Max is waiting to meet you.
