Nova - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in New York, New York

A volunteer writes:
Semi senior Nova was heard "crying" all night in the hallways of a large apartment complex. A Good Samaritan heard his plea and brought him to the Manhattan Care Center. Nothing is known about Nova who was likely let go by his former family(moving, eviction, owner taken into care...). I met him the day after his arrival. A cute Tuxedo, well dressed and with a good weight but looking so lost. What's going on in his head? What did just happen to him? Totally different scenery and people, movements limited in a small space, different food..What's going on? .Better to stay put...Nova is indeed quiet in his kennel, his big eyes all on me. He used his litter box and ate some food, accepts my hand caressing his head and even slightly leans into pets. He enjoys a Churru and a Delectable. May be we could be friends? Nova is a senior with likely some ailments related to his age. He is also FIV+, a condition that does not preclude him to live with other cats and can be discussed with our adoption counselors. It is without say that Nova needs a home sweet home and a family. No pet belongs to a cage and even less a senior. Please, do ask about Nova when you visit us at the care center!
