DESCRIPTION

My foster writes: For many cats, you need patience to earn their trust. Not Bendito- his trust costs 1/2 of a Churu tube and some head pats. He has really blossomed under foster care and has shown to be very affectionate, even to strangers. On day 1 of having him, he was rolling on his belly for pets (yes, the belly is not a lie!) and was giving me nose boops. On day 2, I could ask him for nose boops, and he'd gently rub his face against mine. He has become more vocal over a few days and will answer with a cute, kitten-like meow when you talk to him. He has been great about using his litter box and has scratched the appropriate items. He occasionally plays with toys, but he has a strong preference for getting pets over anything else.

A volunteer writes:
The way to Bendito's heart? Petting sessions, and lots of 'em. This sweet loverboy can be a little shy at first. But once he's comfortable he'll come over and greet you, accepting pettings on his head, cheeks, neck and entire body, keeping his head bowed in blissful appreciation(see his video). He's such an affection monger he even ignores treats in favor of soft human hands that make him feel loved, safe, and secure. Bendito is a young boy who was found all by his lonesome on Seventh Avenue. Nothing is known about his past except that he was left behind in an empty apartment(for days) with another kitty. Looking for a cuddle buddy who will never get tired of your affection? Introduce yourself to our Bendito today!

Another volunteer writes: I can not agree more with what was already said about Bendito! Bendito is a total sweetheart that one still has to discover as he is shy and likes to hide under his blanket. Be gentle and patient and the real and wonderfully loving Bandito will materialize to steal your heart. A quiet and loving home, likely without boisterous young children would be preferable to allow Bendito to acclimate to his new life. Bendito is apparently healthy, already neutered, did well on his behavior evaluation and could go home today with you!

Bendito tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.
