Ace has a few questions before he commits to being your best friend. Who are you? Why are you touching him? Do you have treats? Mostly that last one.

This handsome loaf of a cat is still figuring out shelter life, and frankly, he's not a fan. The constant noise, strange people, and lack of privacy have left him feeling a little cautious. He accepts affection, but on a probationary basis. You'll get some pets, but he'll be watching you closely to make sure you're conducting yourself professionally.

Fortunately, Ace has one weakness: snacks.

Treats are the key to his heart, his soul, and probably most of his decision-making process. Unfortunately for Ace, his waistline has filed a formal complaint, so his treat intake must remain under strict supervision. If it were up to him, he'd be eating his body weight in snacks every day.

What Ace needs now is stability. A quiet home. A predictable routine. A person willing to let him settle in at his own pace and discover that maybe new humans aren't so bad after all.

Underneath the cautious exterior is a sweet cat who's already starting to come around. We suspect that once he's out of the shelter and back in a real home, Ace will remember that life can be pretty good-especially if it occasionally involves a reasonably portioned treat. If you're looking for a loyal companion, a champion napper, and a cat who will eventually decide you're acceptable company, Ace is ready to give you a chance.
