Brandy’s journey began in a woodpile, where she was discovered protecting her four newborn kittens. A NAWS volunteer brought the little family to safety, and although Brandy was barely more than a kitten herself, she devoted herself to being a wonderful mother. She stayed with and nurtured her babies until they were weaned and adopted. Now, after giving them their chance at a happy life, Brandy is waiting for someone to give her the same.

Behind Brandy’s soulful eyes is a tender heart longing to learn that the world can be safe. The noise and constant activity of the shelter overwhelm her, but beneath her fear, a brave and affectionate cat is beginning to emerge.

Despite her difficult start, Brandy is blossoming into a loving, playful, and increasingly confident cat. She may be shy at first, but gentle affection helps her open up. Once she feels safe, she leans into pets and ear scratches, kneads her paws, and answers kindness with a soft, grateful purr.
